今天开始我的翻译练习，先试一篇关于美国教师丁大卫的故事，很感动人的，翻译的速度很慢但收获也很大，先提交一部分吧，朋友们发现了错误别忘了回帖告诉我。
David和他的学生
丁大卫是个美国人。我认识他是在电视上。这个美国人带给了我深深的感动。
David Ding was an American,I know him on TV.This American moved me so deeply.
我受到深深感动的这天是5月14日早上。中央电视台《实话实说》节目组请到了丁大卫。我打开电视, 就听到了丁大卫在与崔永元唠嗑。
It was in the morning of May 14 that I was deeply moved.David was invited to CCTV by “Tell it like it is” act group. I heard David was chatting with Yongyuan Cui when I turned on my TV.
崔永元老笑，而丁大卫很诚恳的样子。丁大卫的故事是这样的：

5年前，美国青年丁大卫来到中国。他到了中国一所最普通的郊区小学教学。这个美国青年因为做人与教学深得人的喜欢，后来居然当上了校长。
Five years ago,American youth David came to China.he got to a suburb elementary school which was very common in China for teaching.People deeply like this American youth for his personailty and teaching. he was elected as schoolmaster finally.
大概是1998年底，想到中国西部去看一看的丁大卫到了甘肃兰州。他到西北民族学院应聘当大学教师。
At about the end of 1998,David wanted to look around the West of China,so he came to Lanzhou,Gansu Province.he applied for a job as a teacher at the Northwest Nationality University.
丁大卫不是一个能侃的人，机智的崔永元是这样“套”丁大卫的:
David was not a good talker,so the tactful Cui tempt David in this way:
“丁大卫，你去大学应聘的时候，是不是这样说的：‘我曾是一名小学教师，积累了一些教学经验，所以来你校应聘大学教师？’”没想到丁大卫这样回答：“大概就是这样的。”
“David,when you went to that university for a job,did you say like this:‘I was a teacher of elementary school before,I have some experience in teaching,so I come here for a job as a teacher?’” What David answered was unexpected: “Almost like this.”
大卫的话让现场很多观众的会心地笑了。但，更有意思的还在后头。
What David said made the audience smiled sincerely.But,what happened later was more meaningful.
学校给丁大卫定的工资的每月1200元。大卫去问别人，1200元在兰州是不是很高了？别人说算是高的了。于是大卫主动找到学校，让人把工资减到900。学校一再坚持，大卫不让，说：怎么也不能超过1000元。最后，学校给他每月950元。
David was offered a salary of 1200 yuan per month.David asked people around whether 1200 yuan was higher than the average income in Lanzhou.Some people said yes.So he requested the management of the university to reduce his salary to 900.the leader of the university insist on,but David didn’t agree,he said: “Anyway,my salary must not exceed 1000 yuan.” At last,the university gave him a salary of 950 yuan per month.
这段经历本来很好笑，但我注意到现场没有一个人笑。
This experience was funny,but I noticed no one of the audience laughed.
